• AB 28 (Gabriel) – legislation which would impose an excise tax in the amount of 11% on the retail sale of firearms, firearm parts, and ammunition passed off the Assembly Floor by a straight party-line vote in late May 2023. Now in the Senate, the bill is scheduled for its first policy committee hearing in Senate Governance and Finance Committee on Thursday, 6/21. CBH/SAA signed a conservation coalition letter of opposition to the bill that was delivered to the Senate Governance and Finance Committee on June 13
